Connecting to SOU Server using Dreamweaver FTP
FTP stands for file transfer protocol, and the purpose for using it is to transfer files from a remote location (e.g., SOU server) and a local computer (e.g., your home computer or your laptop) There are many FTP prograns available for purchase, some are freeware or shareware, and in web editors like Dreamweaver the FTP functionality is built into the program itself. SOU Anywhere can only transfer one file at a time, but FTP programs can transfer a whole folder or an entire site at a time. This tutorial shows how to set it up with Dreamweaver MX2004.

If successful click OK

Once connected to the SOU server, if you haven't built any web pages at home, you can download the entire public folder to your home computer. Otherwise, you can select the specific HTML documents that you want to move back and forth. Usually the images get transferred as well. Be sure to create the same folder structure that you have at home, i.e your images folder is inside the public folder, so the transfers find the correct folder. Once connected every page can be saved and uploaded directly with one click on the Put arrow)
