Cats are some of the most graceful creatures on the planet and are especially well equipped for hunting. They have powerful legs and teeth designed for shearing and tearing meat. Being mostly nocturnal animals they have good night vision and eyes that face forward giving them depth perception. They have retractile claws, being extended when needed, and you don't see them in tracks like you would that of a coyote or fox (Whitaker 1980 ).
